My name is Margret Zondler. It is nice that you found my web site. On the following pages, I would like to present a selection of my objects that I have produced over the last couple of years.
I have been working as a ceramist for the last 25 years. Initially, I began with vascular ceramics. Later, I modeled animal sculptures and finally approached human bodies.
In the past years, I have worked primarily on the human body. Using nude models, I studied movements and positions of human bodies to understand how I could best express moods and feelings.
I intentionally do not focus on detailed definition of faces and exact modelling of hands and feet. I emphasize movements and try to capture moods and feelings. Step by step I go from natural to abstract forms – considering the anatomic particularities.
Another focal point of my workings are objects created using raku technique. These pieces carry the traces of nippers, fire and smoke and owe them their liveliness and individuality.
Under Studio you can see photos of my work place. I use fine as well as coarse clay types. I develop the glaze in most cases on my own; sometimes I use ready-made glaze that I mix individually.
Please contact me if you like my work. I look forward to hearing from you.
With kind regards
